If they say that the debates affected them _ever_, it could be one time in eight. Secondly, the number of voters who switch their voting intention because of a particular debate is going to be greater than the expected poll change. 3% could change from Trump to Biden, 4% could change from Biden to Trump, that would be 7% of the population changed their voting intention but the overall poll change is 1%.

You call the current interest rates ‘very high.’ It is interesting to me because the younger people - I am 69 - seem to think that 5% interest rates is astronomical. My parents - born in the 1920’s - bought their first house with a 6% interest rate. I could not buy a house when I was in my 20s because the interest rates for homes were 12-14% interest rates. Cars were 19-21% interest rates. Right now the baby boomers are holding onto homes because we experience our 5% rates as the lowest we will ever see so can’t afford to sell. Context is everything. The commenter’s context is the economy is super challenging. Yet, unemployment is very low. Interest rates are very low. There is no recession. The stock market is soaring. In other words… everything is terrible? Not sure what to think…
